We are delighted to share the news about the exhibition 'African Amicitiae' at Arti et Amicitiae Amsterdam, with works selected from the Thami Mnyele Foundation collection. The exhibition came after the invitation by Harald Schole to participate in the Arti Amicitiae exhibition serie 'My Collection' curated by Harald Schole and Edith Rijnja.

'African Amicitiae' shows a selection of artworks by artists from the African continent who were awarded with a three months residency at the Thami Mnyele Foundation in Amsterdam in the past 25 years. The exhibition presents works of the Thami Mnyele Foundation collection, which includes nearly 200 works donated by the artists. Some gave a sketch, others enourmous sculptures. There will be shown around 25 works which fit the space.

About 'My Collection':
Artist Harald Schole has been curator of the exhibition series 'My Collection' at Arti et Amicitiae. With these exhibitions which started in 2014, Harald Schole aims to make public particular and often hidden collections of artists and members of Arti. Pauline Burmann, chairperson of the Thami Mnyele Foundation is a member of Arti et Amicitiae and was therefore invited by Harald Schole. The exhibition in Arti et Amicitiae and the publication (NL/ENG) bearing the same title, were initiated, organized and set up together with Edith Rijnja, curator and author.
