Artist Aline Xavier (b.1984) is based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Most of her projects document social conditions of her home state's culture, Minas Gerais, in a poetic way, creating dreamscapes, and works that relate to memory, oral history storytelling and social practices on the verge of extinction. Collaboratively she has produced video-installations, live visuals, experimental documentary and short films. Her residencies include Kooshk (Iran, 2016), LABMIS (Sao Paulo, 2012) and Motomix (Sao Paulo, 2006). Her prizes include 19th Videobrasil Residency Art prize (2015) and Special Jury Award at the 8th Goiania Film Festival (2008). She is the founder and executive producer of the art and cinema company OITOOITO, having produced works of awarded brazilian contemporary artists.
