Jabu Arnell, born St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies/Amsterdam. Arnell studied in the USA and in the Netherlands. In November, December 2016 and the beginning of January 2017, Jabu Arnell was our Thami Mnyele Award artist in residence.
His work is an interplay between weakness and power flow. They are images of cause and effect between body and mind. Every image that occurs to him, is a living figure, even if it has no physical, translucent appearance, but for example, a scent, a path of energy or contemplation.
