LiteSide Festival 2008 takes place 22 until 24 August at Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. LiteSide festival promotes the Oriental - Western cross-overs. The festival includes the project Walk on the LiteSide, photography in the neighborhood. Four visual artists will live and work in the Westerpark neighborhood and stay at the artist in residency of the Thami Mnyele Foundation at the Bellamystraat close to the Ten Cate markt.
Since 1992 The Thami Mnyele Foundation hosts a guest studio including living space, for periods of three months, to African artists. The aim of the foundation is to promote a cultural exchange, stimulate contacts and relations between artists from the African continent and the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular.

The artists will make in their unique way the crossover to the other disciplines. During their working period pictures will be presented in the glass windows of the Staatsliedenbuurt (close to Westergasfabriek). This growing exhibition will finally be presented at the chapel of the Machinegebouw at the Westergasfabriek.
