With a bang of a wall-piece, Adam Belarouchia , Ieaves behind his mark at the Zina studio in New West before heading back to Morocco. Adam has been in residency at the Thami Mnyele Foundation and was also a speaker at our #ZinaSalon on Morocco and visual art, together with visual artists Najib Cherradi, Arti and Heidi Vogels of TransArtists.

As Adam shared with us during the intimate evening last Friday, the use of symbols such as the mouth and the term 'le progres' draws upon his personal experiences with an often outdated Moroccan educational system, while staying true to the artist's own pop inspired style.

Met een grootse muurschildering laat Marokkaanse artiest Adam Belarouchia een laatste stukje kunst achter in Amsterdam bij onze broedplaats op de Vlugt.
Afgelopen vrijdag was Adam, samen met kunstenaars Najib Cherradi, Arti en Heidi Vogels van TransArtists, te gast bij onze eerste intieme en zeer geslaagde #ZinaSaIon over Beeldende Kunst en Marokko die Myriam Sahraoui in samenwerking met DutchCulture centre for international cooperation heeft georganiseerd.


Daar vertelde Adam over zijn werk, ervaringen als net afgestudeerde kunstenaar in Marokko en zijn residency hier in Amsterdam bij de Thami Mnyele Foundation.
Belarouchia gebruikt vaak de mond als symbool en de term 'le progres' (de vooruitgang) die geinspireerd door zijn eigen ervaringen met een vaak onderdrukkend Marokkaans onderwijs systeem.
