Independent curator and co-director at ROOM gallery, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South-Africa. Mogotsi has a particular interest in photography and the visual archive. She studied photojournalism and documentary photography at the market Photo Workshop, and went on to work as a picture redearcher and photo-editor in South African mediahouses. Mogotsi has curated key exhibitions at the University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Arts, Rhodes University, The Johannesburg Art Gallery and Constitution Hill. She is currently co-director at Room Gallery, an independent multidisciplinary gallery and project space the focuses on collaboration, exchange, and interdisciplinary dialogue with early to mid-career artists in the global South and its Diasporas.
Mogotsi will look into the Thami Mnyele foundation art collection between 17 January 2019 and 10th April 2019.
