WE ARE DELIGHTED TO PARTICIPATE IN AMSTERDAM ART WEEK 2024
Artist Talk with Kim Darbouze | Sunday June 2 14:00 - 15:00
Event is free, register by emailing us to info@thami-mnyele.nl
Studio address: Bellamystraat 21 D, Amsterdam 1053 BE
As a part of Amsterdam Art Week, on Sunday, June 2, at 14:00, we will host a talk at the residency. Thami Mnyele Foundation chairsperson Pauline Burmann and board member Linnemore Nefdt will engage in conversation with Kim Darbouze about her work.
Kim Darbouze is an artist and scholar at KITLV/Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies, who conducts research from a psychosocial perspective on colonialism, the legacies of slavery, and collective healing. Kim integrates scientific research and artistic practice, which is still an emerging field within the academic world. By bridging these two realms, the dominant narrative within science is challenged.
