Our fellow Tamrat Gezahegne is participating in OpenART biennale in Örebro, Sweden.
Like a colorful atoll on a sea of stone and gray concrete, an island for reflection and contemplation floats on Svartån. Here are figures shrouded in clouds and a protective tent. The entire environment becomes a place for contemplation.
Gezahegne's art revolves around how people interact with nature and with each other. He makes his interpretation of what gives identity to life in the city and in the countryside. Life in cities is characterized by geometric shapes and cool colors, while organic shapes and warm colors characterize indigenous and peasant villages. He wants the different cultures to understand and enrich each other, with responsibility for biological diversity and sustainable development. Ecocosmosapiens is the artist's word for ecology-cosmos-man.
OpenArt changes Örebro's city center with temporary contemporary art. The art exhibition is open to everyone and is experienced outdoors and without an entrance ticket. During three summer months, the city is filled with art experiences that invites curiosity, create unexpected conversations and spark new thoughts.
The ninth edition of the art biennial takes place between June 15 and September 8, 2024.
