The work of our fellow Neo Matloga can be seen at the group exhibition Positions at ABN AMRO Kunstruimte in Amsterdam.
Positions shows the diverse ways in which artists address social issues and relate to the world we live in. Some work with paint on canvas, others 'paint' with stones, textiles, chemicals or tulip petals to support the expressiveness of their work.
Current themes such as sustainability and climate form ‒ directly or indirectly ‒ a starting point for the works. Take the relationship between man and nature in the work of Cristina Lucas, Emma Talbot and Adriano Amaral. While Lucas works almost analytically and chemically, Talbot is open to the transcendental and irrational. And with images on the border between nature and technology, Amaral mainly raises the question of what is still natural in this day and age.
